Under Changing Skies

A year beneath skies that shape the British psyche.

For British people, weather is more than a backdrop—it’s a defining element of daily life, shaping moods, conversations, and identity. Growing up under grey, ever-changing skies, the constant anticipation of rain or the longing for sunshine becomes ingrained in the collective psyche. Now, living in Spain with its reliable sun, this piece reflects on the emotional weight of the British weather I grew up living with, exploring the nostalgia and significance of skies that once felt oppressive, yet are, at times, unexpectedly missed.

Digital installation of 364 windows, each displaying a 24-hour looping timelapse composed of 144 images captured every 10 minutes from the sky above London, beginning on August 14th, 2023. The final piece comprises over 52,000 images in total.
